This NFC Activation and Hardware Policy explains how NFC-enabled cards, QR-linked profiles, activation keys, and connected hardware features operate within ThriveKiosks, a platform owned and operated by CrownThrive LLC. This Policy governs the setup, activation, use, support, liability, and limitations of all NFC cards and related hardware offered through ThriveKiosks. By purchasing or activating an NFC card, You agree to the terms outlined here.

1. Purpose and Function of NFC Technology

ThriveKiosks provides modern professional identity tools designed to help You share your information instantly. NFC (“Near Field Communication”) enables a “tap-to-view” experience, where tapping the card against a compatible smartphone opens your digital kiosk or business profile.

Example: You hand your card to someone. They tap it with their phone. Your digital kiosk opens immediately — no apps, no downloads, no typing links.

This technology helps businesses, creators, and entrepreneurs streamline networking, marketing, and client onboarding.

2. Activation Keys and Secure Account Binding

Every NFC card includes a unique activation key. This key binds the card to your ThriveKiosks account and prevents unauthorized use. Once activated, the key cannot be reused for another user unless manually reset by CrownThrive support.

Why this matters: If someone finds or steals your card, they cannot overwrite it with their information.

Example: If a user attempts to activate a card with a code already bound to another account, the system will automatically block the request.

3. Custom Production and Encoding Process

All NFC cards offered by ThriveKiosks are custom goods. Each card may include unique encoding, custom printing or engraving, proprietary branding, embedded chips, and personalized activation URLs. Cards are produced through artisan, small-batch, or specialized manufacturing partners.

Example: When You place an order, your card moves through production stages such as design preparation, chip encoding, quality checks, and packaging. These steps cannot be undone or reused for another customer.

Because every card is created specifically for the purchasing user, all NFC cards are classified as non-returnable and non-refundable custom items.

4. Profile Sync and Instant Updates

NFC chips do not store your personal information. They contain a secure redirect that points to your ThriveKiosks profile. This allows You to update your information at any time without needing a new card.

Example: You change your phone number, logo, or business services. You update it inside your dashboard or mobile app. The next time someone taps your card, they see the new information instantly.

5. Mobile App Integration and Expanded Capabilities

ThriveKiosks includes a dedicated mobile app that enhances how You manage your kiosk and NFC experience. The app allows You to:

  • Edit your business information from your phone
  • Update your links, social media, booking tools, and store features
  • View analytics such as tap counts, visitor locations, and link clicks
  • Enable or disable features instantly
  • Access your account securely and manage multiple kiosks

Any change made within the mobile app automatically syncs with both NFC tap actions and QR code scans.

Example: You are at an event and need to switch your main call-to-action from “Call Me” to “Book an Appointment.” You update it in the app, and it updates in real time for every tap and scan.

6. Device Compatibility and User Experience Differences

Most modern smartphones support NFC, but the experience may differ based on device model, operating system, browser preferences, or region. Some Android phones require NFC to be enabled manually in settings. Apple devices read NFC automatically but may respond differently depending on where the chip is tapped.

Example: Some users may need to tap the upper part of the device instead of the center. In rare cases, older devices may only support QR scanning instead of NFC.

ThriveKiosks is not responsible for user device limitations or interference caused by phone cases, magnets, or electronic barriers.

7. Lost, Stolen, or Damaged Cards

If your card is lost or damaged, You may request a deactivation or replacement. Deactivation prevents further tap actions from loading your kiosk. A replacement card may be purchased depending on your subscription tier. Free replacements are not guaranteed.

Example: If your card breaks in half or disappears at an event, You may request a new encoded card at cost. Your digital kiosk remains active and usable regardless of card status.

8. Unauthorized Use and Prohibited Tampering

Users may not modify, rewrite, alter, remove, or tamper with the NFC chip, activation link, encoding, or routing systems. Attempts to integrate NFC data with unauthorized tools, applications, external encoders, or rewriting devices are strictly prohibited.

Example: Using a third-party NFC writer to overwrite your activation key is a violation of this Policy and may permanently disable your NFC features.

9. Hardware Warranty and Physical Limitations

NFC cards are durable but not indestructible. Physical damage may render the chip unreadable. ThriveKiosks does not provide warranties against wear, bending, cracking, exposure to water, exposure to magnetic fields, or damage caused by improper handling.

Example: If a card is left in a hot car, warped, scratched, or exposed to moisture, the chip may stop functioning. Replacement is the user's responsibility.

10. Production, Processing, and Shipping Standards

ThriveKiosks provides free outbound shipping on all NFC cards. Production timelines vary based on design, material, supply chain conditions, and quality control requirements. Shipping may include ground or economy carriers chosen at our discretion.

Example: If a card includes engraving, metallic finishes, or specialty colors, production may take additional time. Free shipping does not include guaranteed delivery dates.

Customs delays for international shipments are not under our control. Tracking availability may differ by region.

11. Liability and Service Limitations

ThriveKiosks is not liable for delays, losses, or failures caused by:

  • third-party shipping carriers
  • device incompatibility
  • external NFC interference
  • incorrect user configurations
  • user changes to their kiosk or links
  • loss or damage caused after delivery

Our responsibility ends once your order is delivered or your activation link is assigned and functioning.

12. System Updates and Ongoing Improvements

ThriveKiosks may update, improve, or modify the NFC experience at any time. This includes backend routing, activation systems, mobile app features, analytics tools, profile layouts, link behavior, and server infrastructure. These updates ensure reliability and long-term platform performance.

Example: We may add analytics, new layout templates, enhanced tap-to-call features, or updated security layers without prior notice.

13. Contact for NFC Support

For assistance with activation, troubleshooting, or replacement options, You may contact our support team at contact@crownthrive.com . Support availability depends on your subscription tier and response times may vary.

14. Effective Date

This NFC Activation and Hardware Policy is effective as of December 10, 2025.
